YouTube star and beauty Guru Nikkie Tutorials rocked the internet on January 13th when she uploaded a video to her channel titled “I’m Coming Out.”

Nikkie revealed the shocking news that she is transgender and that at the age of 6 years old started her journey of transitioning from male to female.

“I grew my hair out, the people at school they knew… i mean they saw! [laughs] and by the time I was 8 I fully wore girls clothes only and it felt amazing.”

Thankfully Nikkie was surrounded by supportive teachers growing up and had a loving and understanding mother who fully supported her from the beginning.

By the age of 19 Nikkie fully transitioned to female and did so while sharing makeup videos to YouTube. Finally she had put the hardest part of her life behind her.

Until now… Nikkie explains in her video that she has always wanted to share this part of her story with her 12+ million followers at some point. However she was pushed into making the video now becauSe she was being blackmailed by unnamed individuals threatening to leak this information to the media.

While she may not have wanted to share this right now she has no regrets and seems happy and confident in her video.

“I am Nikkie Tutorials, I am Nikkie, I am me, we don’t need labels. If we are going to put a label on it yes I am transgender but at the end of the day I am me. And at the end of the day you are you.”
